Will Bulsiewicz, M.D., MSCI, is a board-certified, award-winning gastroenterologist and the New York Times bestselling author of Fiber Fueled. He’s a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and was chief medical resident at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and chief gastroenterology fellow at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. First things first: I love Dr. B. I think he's absolutely one of the best at what he does, and his books are a reflection of the dedication he applies to his career and to his craft. The Fiber Fueled Cookbook is stunning. It's a beautiful cookbook, but it's much more than just a cookbook filled with plant-based recipes. You will learn about the fiber paradox, how to manage food intolerances, food sensitivity, FODMAPs, synthetic substances that make it into our food system, fermentation, sprouting, holistic healing, hope for histamine intolerances, and even how to train your gut. You will also be treated to incredible recipes, with beautiful photos, such as blueberry buckwheat pancakes, sweet potato waffles, sunburst summer salad, quinoa, corn & black bean-stuffed peppers, sesame broccoli noodles, spicy peanut stew, tempeh bacon BLTA, creamy cajun bowl, and even sweet treats like Mexican hot chocolate brownies and peanut butter date cookies. This book was very informative. It had many recipes that I liked. I actually really appreciated the information on allergies or food intolerances and about FODMAP. It was explained well, and Dr B makes it easy to understand. This book isn't just a cookbook, it helps explain many things in layman's terms.

This cookbook is a great companion to the Fiber Fueled book by Dr B. The recipes are tasty and not too hard to do. There are a lot of tips on how to adjust the recipes for low-FODMAP diets or other challenges. Lots of information about how food works in your body. I need to sit down and just read through the whole book!

I just got my copy and was very pleasantly surprised it included beautiful pictures. Everything looks so delicious and easy to make. I've been scouring the internet, blogs, other cookbooks for easy super healthy plant based recipes I can make my toddler and of course myself. I found a few but it took me a while and a lot of searching. I'm excited to add more from this book. Every page was making my mouth water.

Big fan of Dr B. I loved his first book and have listened to all of his podcast interviews. I can’t recommend this book enough for exploring and treating mild gut issues and for good eating! I have been eating whole foods plant based for about three years. I have experienced benefits from this way of eating (weight loss, lower cholesterol) but still experienced some issues with digestion (bloating, gas). Nothing serious but still frustrating. As soon as my cookbook arrived and I read the section about histamines, something clicked for me. I had a ton of those symptoms! I had never heard of histamine intolerance until I read about it in the cookbook. I was dismayed to see that pretty much everything I have been eating on a daily basis is high in histamines: avocado, soy, bananas, chickpeas, and especially fermented foods. However, the cookbook has provided me with easy, delicious recipes so that I can follow a two week elimination diet. So far I have made the Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes (p. 144), the Low-Histamine Biome Broth (p. 159), and the Sweet Potato Hummus Wraps (p. 167). All have been delicious! And best of all, my symptoms are gone. Like magic. It’s only been 4 days but since eliminating those triggering foods, no more itching, flushing, hives, gas, bloating, runny nose (after eating), dizziness. I will finish my two weeks (happily!) and then use Dr B’s GROWTH strategy to work foods back in and find my threshold. I am so grateful for such an easy and helpful framework.

Now, it’s listed as a cookbook because there are dozens of gorgeously-pictured, delicious, fully plant-based recipes. But it’s SO MUCH MORE than a simple cookbook. It’s a guide to healing your gut, getting your microbiome fully tuned up and operating at peak proficiency, and focuses on YOU with the concept of bio-individuality.

I love how it’s laid out with content and then recipes in each section (see the video I made). He explains his GROWTH strategy for testing individual foods to see your body’s reactions and what you can tolerate. It’s got sections about and discusses:
- FODMAP food sensitivities
- histamine foods & sensitivity (I didn’t know that was a thing until now)
- gluten sensitivity/ celiac disease
- gallbladder dysfunction
- constipation
- holistic healing
- sleep
- exercise
- food / meal timing
- fermented foods (including a sourdough starter & bread recipes!)
- sprouting
- and so much more

I have been in heaven reading it! (I pre-ordered back in January so I received it the first day possible). If you have ANY health issues, getting your gut microbiome in tip top condition can only help. And this book will not only explain how to do that, but will give you delicious fully plant-based recipes to make that happen. I highly recommend this one!

The weight of this full coloured cookbook (weighs 1 kg) speaks volumes. The care, thought and content that went into creating this masterpiece is a true gift from the gastroenterologist doctor who truly wants us to heal our guts from inside out.

In addition, the quality and weight of the paper used to print this thick 3/4” cookbook, far exceeds any profit points, this doc can make out of it.

If you’ve been following gastroenterologist Dr Will Bulsiewicz’s work on YouTube, you’ll know he really wants people to go back to basics and heal with plant food. He saw the difference “inside” his patients - those who ate plants and those who didn’t.

Amazing! This book is the practical part of the first ‘Fiber Fueled’ book which was all the theory and cements to the wonderful world of being plant powered to help build a healthy and strong microbiome. Each recipe includes its plant points and it also includes the how-to on making sourdough bread! I want to do all the recipes! Perfect cookbook for people who aim for gut health!

It is a perfect addition to his first book and I would still recommend to read his first book also.

Not only perfectly executed and amazingly written cookbook, but includes a lot of new and useful information. I already have Fiber Fueled book and this cookbook was exactly what I was waiting for (yes from very beginning when Dr.B. announced it)! It has one small flaw, it is written with US measurements so you need to do some counting if you are in Europe and using grams. But overall this doesnt matter and will give to your book personal touch. Can't wait all receipts from this book!
