Use by Hand

Use the GoSaw by hand for standard wood-sawing tasks. Cut up fallen trees and limbs for removal, or use the GoSaw to cut up lumber for your latest project.

Mount on Extension Pole

Mount the GoSaw on the 5-12' DocaPole extension pole for pruning power that reaches up to 17 feet when used standing. Use this manual saw to trim or remove high branches. Excellent for trimming palm trees. For optimal use and to minimize pole flex, use the pole with 4/5 of the segments extended - this will provide about 15 feet of reach while standing. To minimize flex when using the pole fully extended, focus on the saws up and down sawing motion and let the saw do the work.

Razor Sharp Teeth

The GoSaw features razor-sharp 3-sided taper-ground teeth which make quick work of any wood sawing job. Customers rave about the ability of the GoSaw to accomplish hard-to-reach pruning tasks that previously required the hiring of outside contractors. The rust-free chrome plating ensures the GoSaw will continue to be up the task.

We've had a lot of rain here, and a lot of mosquitoes this spring. This has significantly delayed my yard work. To speed things up, I knew I needed some new yard tools. It seemed as if there was an endless number of tree trimming to choices on Amazon to consider. I spend a few hours one night looking at everything. At the end of my search, the Doca Pole was the hands down obvious choice. My deciding factor was 1) I did NOT want one of those little chainsaw trimming poles. I didn't want to deal with broken chains and a tool stuck up in the tree overhead. 2) I didn't not want anything flimsy. I did not want those cheesy ball-bearing extension stops on the extension poles found on most products. 3) I was willing to accept a little extra weight to have a much more rigid and quality pole, as this is beneficial when sawing. The slight extra weight of this pole, as opposed to other flimsy choices, makes sawing a branch quite easy. No pressure needed to be applied for best cutting performance. Just an up & down stroking motion made trimming branches seem almost effortless. While I have only used this tool to saw off a few low hanging high branches so far, I can already say I'm glad I kept searching on Amazon until I came across the Doca Pole. I really like it. It has a solid well built feel to it. It's easy to extend and collapse. I can tell already this tool is built to last. The saw functioned quite well too, as good as any other hand saw that I have.I've got my work cut out for me now. I have 5+ acres here with about 3 acres similar as pictured. I used this tool within a few minutes of receiving it to cut off some low hanging branches on that tree between the garage and myself. This was preventing delivery vehicles from backing up to the house to unload deliveries.Oh, I should mention the Doca Pole also has an attachment for picking tree fruit (as well as many other attachments). I may order this, or maybe not. I've got a lot of crabapple trees here and the deer come to eat the low hanging apples in the fall. I then leave the high hanging ones to fall to the ground as winter arrives. The deer then come back in the spring to dig in the melting snow to find those apples that fell from the top and got buried last fall/winter. They like those a LOT because they become fermented. Have you ever seen deer get drunk on fermented fruit and start dancing in your back yard? They do! They are a delight and hilarious to watch. Now .. if it would only stop raining and the mosquitoes would disappear ...

After a recent storm, the tree in our backyard had a few of the branches broken or bending towards the house scraping against the roof and siding. The branches that needed to go were high at around 30 feet (three-story townhouse). I called around for a tree trimming service and got two crews show up and quote me a whopping $400-450, so I decided no way I'm paying that and bought this off of Amazon. This took about 4 days to arrive instead of the usual 2 days of Prime shipping.

Anyway, this thing is LONG and sturdy even fully extended. here are a few tips:

1. Some reviewers noted that the extended legs contract and expand with the saw movement. You may need to tighten both screws on each of the locks. I had absolutely no issue with the legs sliding.

2. Once fully extended, this becomes very unstable and hard to control (lever force) although it is relatively light by itself. I'd suggest you use the weight of the poles and saw by standing not directly under the branch, but away so that the saw "lays" on the branch. The more perpendicular to the branch the better.

3. I cut a few branches ranging from an inch to about 5 inches wide, but i guess the saw could handle a wider branch too. It's very hard to saw with the thing fully extended, so you must have a lot of upper body strength (or have someone help you).

4. Cutting in shorter swings helps and patience and stamina is needed. Note that once the saw is through the branch it may go flying towards where the force or gravity was applied and you could accidentally damage your neighbors or your own property if all 20+ feet of this falls on it :). So be sure to be extra careful once you are about to be through a branch.

Now for the negative - I wish the saw had a hook at the very tip of it like other saws do. once a branch is cut, especially a smaller one, it may just snap at the cut and stay hanging on the tree and there is no way to pull it. What I did is once I was approaching the end of a cut and the branch started breaking I would slightly rotate the saw so that it stays in the cut. This worked but this is not reliable. Not a reason enough to take off a star though.

Anyway, this thing saved me a few hundred dollars and I'm sure it will save me more money in the future as the trees will continue to grow and spread their branches. It is well constructed and the saw is sharp and cuts pretty effectively.

Oh, and a WARNING. The pole is aluminum so make sure there are no electric wires where you are working. Considering how unwieldy this becomes when extended, working near wires can be very dangerous.

This product is exactly as advertised. It is lightweight, it extends to the length it claims to, the saw blade is very sharp and works wonderfully. I read thru the other reviews before purchasing this and I can see where both the negative and positive ratings had valid points. Any pole extended to this length is going to take some practice to maneuver and handle. In order to make the pole manageable it has to be light weight, but this in turn causes it to be flimsy when extended to full length. On a hard wood branch where I was able to rest it and get a cut started, it work great. However on my palm trees where the fronds and seed pods are very flexible it was harder to get a cut to work. One of the other reviews had mentioned this also so I was prepared for this possibility. I got it to work not so much by cutting but by ripping, which I was able to do by the shear sharpness of the blade.
I wish there was a scissors type attachment for this and I did send in a suggestion to the company and they were polite enough to thank me for the idea and that they would consider it.
For me the first 15 minutes were spent learning how to maneuver the extended pole and how it reacted. Once I had a feel for it I was satisfied with the performance I got out of it.
For me this was a good purchase but I would suggest to anyone else to think about the application that you want to use it for, be aware that it is flimsy when fully extended and are you the sort of person willing to take a few moments to learn it's personality (so to speak)

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly sturdy

For the price I was expecting a flimsy potato of a product, but this thing is actually pretty well built.
The locking mechanisms are quite stiff and require strong hands, but I think that's actually a good thing and they'll probably relax in time. The pole itself is substantially thick and has reinforced ridges along the edges, which not only provide strength, but help keep things from sliding around or rotating inside the collars.
This goes to the top of a third storey roof soffit from the ground, great for removing wasp nests or even painting fascia with the right tools, and it's not that expensive compared to a fiberglass paint pole that are usually max 16feet.

I needed this to trim some high branches and also to clean a gutter using some attachments. The pole is strong and relatively light given its size. Easy to extend and lock, the pole does bend a little bit but that's to be expected. The saw is excellent and very sharp. NOTE - there is a screw at the base of the saw to lock it in place stronger so that could be the reason why it may have slipped for some others during heavy sawing? Worked well for me. BONUS - comes with a duster attachment so that's a nice bonus. Arrived very quickly. Recommended.

Very sharp. It did the job I purchased it for. Pole is a little light but if you over lap it when extended as instructed it did the job.
