An Authentic and Unique Perspective on DEI in the Workplace

2020 has been the year where certain societal issues can no longer be ignored. As workplaces become more diverse, it is imperative that diversity, inclusion, and equity trainings/materials are available to staff to promote a healthy work environment. Panel discussions, focus groups, diversity dinner dialogues, and group- centered events outside of a designated day or month (ex: women-centered events outside of Women’s History Month) are some suggestions that could improve the atmosphere of a workplace. This practical guide could also be used to implement DEI in educational institutions, the military, federal agencies, healthcare systems, and all other organizations because we tend to not see our own backgrounds as means for personal biases that may negatively impact our own or another’s workplace experience.
Evidence-based references as well as personal experiences from Dr. Asare provides an authentic and unique perspective on DEI being integrated into an organization’s culture.
It is not like other training materials or guides you can find and an easy read. I highly recommend!
