I think this touchpad is pretty good. I haven't used any other options but compared to my laptops touch pad it's bigger and it supports the multitouch. Lots of hate on here but I think it's been hassle free and really great to use so far. I don't have any issues with the product, a lot of the complaints here are centered on the fact it doesn't "stay connected" - it does go to sleep but usually a quick tap is all that's needed.... the only real issue I have is that my mousepad is black as well so so it's hard to see on the mousepad so I end up using like the corners and not the center which does inhibit performance but that's not really an issue with the product... charging is quick and easy no issue there and yes you can't use it plugged in but I work about 10-12 hours and have to charge it maybe once or twice a month..... i don't think there are any other alternatives out there, I have checked. no complaints on my end. Also again I haven't seen any alternatives and the cheap straight from China models are janky and laggy.

I have connected this touchpad to a desktop computer with Win10 on board. I use it for about a month. The feeling of cursor control is comparable to that of an Apple MacBook. The drivers built into the Win10 system support a sufficient number of gestures for comfortable work and the ability to fine-tune. There is no desire to return to using a mouse, although, I know, there are professionals who use a touchpad in conjunction with a mouse. It might make sense in graphics, if you set up your mouse for high precision at the pixel level and use the touchpad for everything else.

Moreover, while vertical scrolling with a good mouse can be more comfortable for many people, the touchpad has an undeniable advantage in horizontal scrolling. It also allows you to switch between tasks and desktops almost instantly. The very control of the cursor on the touchpad is much faster and easier, since it only requires moving the fingertips, the hand can remain stationary or only rotate on a table or other support. Moving the mouse with any grip also means moving the hand, which is less comfortable.

The surface material ensures perfect finger glide. It is large enough for comfortable use while saving space on your desktop, especially when combined with a compact keyboard.

Now about the disadvantages. The declared 2 months of work from a full charge have not yet been confirmed, although, one must assume that the battery has not yet reached full capacity, since I had only one full charge cycle and discharge up to 20% in 3 weeks for 3-4 hours of work. It should be noted that the charge occurs quickly enough and you can continue to work during the charge.

There is an inconvenience associated with switching to power saving mode after 10 minutes of inactivity. Recovery of efficiency takes some time. There are use cases where this can be a significant disadvantage. Then you can consider a touchpad with a wired connection. By the way, there is no information in the description whether it works on a wire or a wire only for charging. I'll have to check. Then maybe, with such a connection, it does not need to hibernate? Maybe someone has already checked it?

Sometimes, for no apparent reason, the cursor from the touchpad slows down or freezes altogether for a while. In this case, the "control" mouse behaves quite normally. Whether this is a problem of the touchpad itself, drivers or windows, it has not yet been determined.

In conclusion, I want to say that the device is not ideal, but extremely comfortable and enjoyable to work with a computer.

Mouse cursor update rate is too low (30hz? or less) and sometimes the cursor moves late. When I touch and drag the touchpad, the cursor moves after about 0.5 seconds. Wow. This is laggy when using and just gives you the feeling of using a 30fps monitor. it is ok when used as standalone. However, I would never recommend it for use with other wireless devices or for long distances (3m). This product should have provided other connection methods (usb wire connection, 2.4GHz dongle...) in addition to the unstable Bluetooth LE.

1 week edit: So upgrading to a solid 4 stars. After a week of use I love this device. Only three things keep it from getting all 5 stars: could be bigger, could be a touch more sensitive, wake from sleep could be implemented better. Obviously, that would make it equal to the apple magic touchpad, which is $30-$50 more.... but i'd probably pay the extra for those features.

So if I could give this 3.5 stars, I would. I rounded up to 4 because, frankly, if you want a wireless touchpad to use with a Windows machine, this is the one to buy. I don't understand why the choices are so limited. Touchpads beat a mouse in everything but precision. And unless you're gaming (which I don't), or drawing (e.g. PowerPoints or Illustrator), touchpads with multi-touch and gestures provide a LOT more features and options than buttons on a mouse can provide.

Ok, to the review: Starting with a base of 3 stars: The battery life is great (+1). All gestures are supported and can be configured from within the windows 10 touchpad settings, which is AWESOME (+1.5), it does go to sleep after 10 minutes, and you have to click to wake it.... honestly, I don't really understand why this is a big deal in the other reviews.... (-0.5) the sensitivity is really not comparable to the touchpad on my XPS laptop (-0.5).... and this is my main issue..... for $99, you should be able to get some hardware with the same sensitivity level.... if it was $50, I would understand (-1.0). You can't just "flick" gestures quickly like you can on the XPS laptop touchpad, you have to be SLIGHTLY more deliberate... but not by much. But you know what? Being the BEST wireless touchpad for Windows, in a market that doesn't have any other options, gets you some points because at least you're trying (+0.5).

Brydge build quality products. I've had some of their ipad keyboards. Glad they are in this space too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very overpriced for what it is
Reviewed in Canada on November 19, 2020
In terms of aesthetics, this is a beautiful trackpad. No branding, a pure non-shiny black coating all around its metal frame. It also feels very quality, hence the frame. But as said for performance, it pales in comparison to the OG Logitech T650 that is now discontinued. I guess, there are limitations with bluetooth vs a 2.4 ghz dongle connection, with the 2.4 being better. This trackpad, during idle mode for a little bit of time, will disconnect itself. To reconnect it, you have to press it down and for my computer, it'll freeze for a second before it reconnects. It's very annoying, and the tracking experience is not as smooth as the T650...at all. Gestures work well though, but eh. Too expensive too.

    5.0 out of 5 stars It's a precision touchpad!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 22, 2020
Overall impressions are good. It works flawlessly supporting all three or four finger gestures built in by Windows. It also works with third party tools that can take advantage of precision touchpads such as multiswipe and gesturesign. The latter which can be download free from the Windows store allows you to create custom gestures for nearly anything.

As other reviews note, the touchpad does fall asleep if it isn't used for a set period of time, somewhere between 5-10 minutes by my estimate. Battery life is good, though mine did arrive with zero battery so expect to wait 2-3 hours for a full charge. The trackpad I received did appear to have been used previously as there was some debris, stickers undone etc, so you may receive yours with a full battery.

Other reviewers mention that tap to click doesn't work but I can confirm it does if you have it enabled in settings. Trying to click the trackpad isn't a great experience, it clicks best right at the bottom, with the top half requiring a lot of effort. It's also a deep click, so if you're not used to diving boards or enjoy force trackpads you may take time to adjust.

Whilst not specific to Brydge trackpads, one irritating bug I found was in the Chrome browser where it will often stop scrolling. Whilst the cursor will move, clicking will work, the web page won't scroll and often requires me to close my tab/app and reopen to get it working again. Searching online, I found this bug in Chrome occurs with many manufacturers touchpads and migrating to Edge fixed this for me.

Build quality is good, though the smoothness of the touchpad surface doesn't quite reach the standard set by top premium touchpads like Apples. When compared to a Macbook or my Razer laptop where the polished glass surfaces mean your fingers smoothly slide across the surface, this just feels fine and not as premium.

In summary, in a league of it's own, unless you want to do a wired Magic Trackpad, which can be updated to use precision drivers on Windows. Not quite as premium as I'd like for the price tag, but does what it says on the tin.
