What is SPF

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. It is a measure used worldwide to indicate the level of sunscreen protection. Using an SPF 15 sunscreen means it will take 15 times longer for skin to begin to burn than it would without sunscreen.

Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB

There are two types of ultraviolet (UV) light that can harm your skin- UVA and UVB. A Broad Spectrum sunscreen protects you from both. UVB rays are primarily responsible for causing sunburn while UVA rays are associated with skin aging.

Sunscreen Application

The recommended amount of sunscreen for the average person is 1 Fl Oz. A simple way to remember how much sunscreen to apply is imagine the amount of sunscreen that would fit in a shot glass or the size of a golf ball. Sunscreen should be applied 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapplied every 2 hours or immediately after swimming, sweating or drying off.

Traditional vs Mineral Sunscreens

There are two general types of sunscreen - traditional and mineral. Traditional sunscreens work by absorbing the sun's rays while mineral sunscreens protect skin by blocking the sun's rays. Whichever type you choose, make sure it provides Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB protection.

I bought the medium shade and when I first opened it, I thought it was going to be much too dark. It did blend very well though and just provides a little bit of summer glow. Super lightweight and not sticky at all. I’m really happy to finally have found a mineral sunscreen with SPF 50 that doesn’t feel like it’s suffocating my skin.

It gives medium-full coverage on top of having 50 spf, stays on allllll day, and can be worn in place of foundation. I wear it over my moisturizer and my skin never feels dry or tight, and it doesn’t get cakey with reapplication or cling to dry patches. And the medium shade is a perfect match for my medium-tan skin! The ONLY complaint that I have is that it’s impossible to wash off even after all-day wear unless you use an oil cleanser/makeup remover which is a non-issue imo. This is my new holy grail skin product for summer!

This wears well, is not greasy, dries to a nice matte texture. Perfect for combo and especially oily skin.

I have severe hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and have been using chemical sunscreens bc w tret use, my skin was just too peelie for any tinted or regular mineral sunscreens. The zinc and titanium usually highlights it even more. I could barely even use make up. Plus a good chemical sunscreen provides better PDD rating (UVA spectrum) than what most mineral sunscreens can provide.

This stuff actually softens the peelie look, its better than make up. I'm so impressed, I always stayed away from mineral sunscreen bc of color and texture, they are always so greasy and texturizing and I have oily skin. Ofc, how it looks depends on how bad my peelies are and which moisturizer I'm using.

Australian Gold Tinted is a game changer for me. I now use a popular Japanese chemical sunscreen as my first layer, and top up with this sunscreen bc the iron oxides is suppose to protect from blue light which has been darkening my hyperpigmenation despite sunscreen use. The two formulas are compatible.

Btw, this sunscreen has been tested for a PPD rating of about 19.2, which is really decent. I'll probably get this in all 3 shades to use to match to my perfect color and also as contouring especially across my cheek bones which will give it extra protection during the summer. This stuff is better than make up and I've even tested really high end tinted mineral sunscreens at Sephora that does not even measure up to this one. This sunscreen is definitely designed for tough use like sweaty humid Florida weather. So perfect for the beach. It dries so nicely that I can wear it on parts of my body and it doesn't smear as much like other sunscreens, especially tinted mineral sunscreen.

Unlike the color choices at Sephora, the colors aren't a perfect match. However, the texture for me is Holy Grail. Hopefully Australian Gold will work on their color choices as this is a top selling tinted mineral sunscreen and the value is unbeatable.

Overall I really like this sunscreen and will continue to buy it. It's tinted so it doubles as a sheer foundation, it's truly matte and stays matte all day, it's easy to reapply mid-day, it's lightweight and comfy. My only complaint is that it's quite difficult to wash off. I usually need to cleanse twice and occasionally three times to fully remove all of it. However, for me, the quality of the product is worth this tradeoff. For people with very sensitive or dry skin, the multiple washings might make this product not worth it. Hope this is helpful.

Just spent a week at the beach and was in the sun everyday, this stuff worked amazingly well. It says 80 minutes but it really lasts for days. I was in the ocean almost everyday and put this stuff on my legs and didn't wash my legs with soap the first few days and it still provided protection. I usually get burned within an hour being in the sun, being that I have really light skin. I was surprised how long I could last on the beach and how many days it stayed on my legs with 1 very thin application and it still protected my skin from burning on day 3. The only place I was burned was at the top of my feet where I had sand stuck to my feet when I put on the sunscreen for the 1st time. In addition, this tint is awesome for people that glow when they go outside. It adds just a little tiny bit of tint to even out your skin and not look so ghostly white on the beach. I went in the ocean several times and this doesn't wash off unless you scrub it off with a lot of soap. I purchased the medium tinted sunscreen even though my skin tone is nowhere near the color of tint medium is. When you rub it in evenly, it blends into the skin and doesn't look odd, not your color or too tan. That is if you use just enough to spread it everywhere evenly and rub it in really well. If you use more and don't rub it in very well, you could probably get a tan base if that is what you are looking for. Let it dry before putting anything on, its like makeup and gets on your clothes if it not dry. For the people that want a subtle tint where your legs haven't seen the light of day in a long while, I recommend this color. This is perfect for going out to the beach or lake, it stays on very well and for a very long period of time and is a natural mineral sunscreen which is amazing. This company did a great job on this product. I used this on my body, not my face as my makeup already has a 50spf in it. I can't tell you how it looks on the face. I am usually allergic to mineral makeup and I get hives. I tested this on my legs first and no reactions from the minerals like the mineral makeup I have used in the past. I then put it on the rest of my body and had no reactions, rash or hives. It did its job way better than expected. Would definitely purchase again. I purchased 2 bottles and used maybe a quarter size sunscreen on my entire vacation. A little goes a long way

That's the best sunscreen I have ever used (and trust me when I say I have tried many!!).
I have oily skin and live in humid weather. Still, this sunscreen leave my skin feeling and looking matte.
As for the color, I had to mix fair and medium but then I get to my perfect skin tone.
