I purchased this to upgrade my echo dot, what a great choice. I chose this, mostly due to the screen so I could see the time and weather when I woke up instead of having a routine play on the dot. The screen is vibrant and beautiful, there are tap features to snooze alarm (which I use), a night mode (that allows darker screen for sleep, which is perfect for me since I hate light in my room at night), and the speakers are phenomenal. I listen to rains storms when I sleep and I legitimately thought thunder was rolling outside.
I have used it to play music, more metal, and the sound quality is superb. The screen allows you to see the artist, song, and album while playing. So now more "alexa, who sings this song".
Set up was a breeze. Once power was on, my alexa app notified me that it was ready to connect, found the network without me going through all the set up. My only issue is that it automatically connected to my 2.4ghz network instead of my 5ghz, which all my other devices are connected too. It was an easy switch by just putting it in pairing mode and connecting to that network.
Overall, great product, great price (I got it on prime day), and great sound quality. I would and have recommended this product to a handful of people already.

A few weeks ago we got the echo dot with a clock for our bedroom. My wife liked it so much that she wanted one for her office. I was disappointed to find that we couldn’t get the same echo Dot, so I thought we would try this new echo spot. It seems to work perfect and the screens all seem good (like the face and color choices) and the sound quality is great. Regarding other comments about the clock getting small when playing music, you can either swipe down on the screen and touch the home button or even easier you can just command Alexa to go to the home screen.I have recently started using our bedroom echo dot with routines to override my thermostat, which is on the first floor when the second floor is too hot. I understand why some people would be frustrated that the new echo spot is not have a temperature sensor, and that should be made very clear in the item listing so that people don’t order this and get frustrated. Other than that, we just started using it, and we love it!

Hablando de funcionalidades:
- Básicamente funciona de igual manera que cualquer otro echo/alexa, aunque puede variar una que otra cosa debido a la nueva pantalla integrada.
- Las animaciones que se muestran en diferentes ocasiones (al pasar un minuto en el rejol, al poner musica, al crear una alarma, etc., etc.) son muy bonitas, puedes personalizar tanto el reloj con diferentes diseños (que probablemente con el tiempo se agreguen más) y con diferentes colores (magenta, violeta, verde aqua, azul, naranja y lima).
- La pantalla es táctil/touch y por esto, puedes acceder a configuraciones rapidas dentro del mismo Echo Spot (para una configuración mas detallada, abre la app de Alexa), ya sea, cambiar el color y diseño del reloj, regular el brillo de la pantalla, bajar/subir volumen, etc., etc.
Puntos malos:
- El Echo llegó en una bolsa de carton con burbujas (al menos a mi y a varios más) siento que al ser un dispositivo electrónico, debería llegar al menos en una caja de cartón con mucha más protección
- La pantalla no es un circulo como se podría pensar, es un rectangulo en el centro de toda la parte negra. Cuando está el brillo alto o al máximo, se notan los bordes de esta. De lo contrario, en espacios obscuros/no tan iluminados, no se nota para nada.
Conclusión:
Por el precio que esta en este momento a miembros Prime, es una excelente opción. Como se aprecia en las fotos, se nota mas grande que una Alexa con reloj (olvidé el nombre) pero no es tanto como para estorbar, el tamaño es ideal. valió mucho la pena por el simple hecho de ser mucho mas elegante, con mas funcionalidades y obviamente, mas nueva y actualizada.
Seguramente con el tiempo se agreguen funcionalidades para facilitar muchas mas tareas. Compra esta Alexa si quieres tener un reloj digital, una bocina de buen sonido y volúmen y obviamente, una asistente para tus tareas :)))
