I am 42 and I have searched for years for a good oil control lotion for my angry, oily, acne-prone, combination skin and this is the best by far. It's lightweight and has a nice light fragrance. It controls my facial oil all day, reducing the amount of dirt and dead skin my pores collect helping to keep my skin clear and smooth and bright. You don't need to use a lot and it goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly, Works great on my newly minted teenage son as well, so now, hopefully, he won't have to struggle with his skin issues the way I have for years.

Moderately mattifying and nourishing
I have very oily skin that’s prone to breakouts from small bumps to blackheads to fully developed pimples to large cysts. I use prescription Clindamyacin lotion, and I use over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide 10% face wash and treatment lotion. I exfoliate 2-3 times per week with a Neutrogrena face scrub. I also use a kaolin mud mask every 1-2 weeks.With that said, I just added Alba Botanica Acne Dote oil control lotion to my regime. I wish the lotion was more mattifying; however, I would say it’s moderately mattifying. It has a smooth feel and doesn’t leave my skin greasy or oily. This is the first facial lotion that feels very smooth yet doesn’t add oil build up on my skin. After application, my skin doesn’t feel dry and feels nourished and soft. The lotion doesn’t cause additional breakouts on my skin. I give this lotion a 4 out of 5 stars because I wish it was more mattifying, yet it offers many benefits that I really like.The active ingredient is 2% salicylic acid —fyi
