They were delivered with no breakage. These are slightly larger than a quart. I've frozen them and they didn't leak or break. BUT if you're going to use the plastic screw-on caps, be sure you use the plastic rings they come with or they definitely leak. Sometimes if you don't put the screw-on lids on really tight, they'll leak.

We were having a problem with "pantry moths". We had things/dried foods in zip lock bags and those little suckers would get in there. We had to dispose of grains, rice, beans. I researched how to get rid of them for good and in addition to cleaning the pantry with white cleaning vinegar and water...I bagged small sashes of dried peppermint (they HATE peppermint) and we were good to go. These mason jars were a great idea.

These were a great deal for the 8 mason quart sized jars. The only negative I have to say is the plastic lids were a little chintzy / flimsy. 3 of the 8 plastic lids were slightly warped and would buck their threads if tightened even close to hand tight. The metal lids / bands worked just great.
