Can't comment on long term durability yet however from what I've seen so far this is one of the best made umbrella bases.
Typically you either have a weighted plastic tub that doesn't look very appealing filled with sand, an acrylic base that is potential to cracking, a metal base that is unwieldy / rust prone or something like this which fills with water. This base is different in that is has some clever touches that make it appealing and functional.
Pros
- Seemingly durable plastic with no cheap seams and good weight
- Good looking oil rubbed bronze color
- Water plug gets covered by a cover so its hidden
- Fills with water so its light initially but around 50lbs after. Makes it more portable and storable
- The pole attaches from the back side so it can't fall out
- The 2 piece pressure screw holds various size umbrellas and tightens them down using flat pressure rather than a single small screw
- Shape is classy and somewhat style neutral so it fits a range of patios.
- Setup was easy and logical. It does however contain more pieces than most people would be used to for an umbrella stand
Cons
- Size. Its very large. and thats probably a plus to keep your umbrella from flying away however it does take up lots of real estate under the table.
- Not sure if it would work for a standalone umbrella. We are using in a patio table with a hole and it works great but not sure it has the weight or diameter for those large cantilever umbrellas.

Seems really good quality
When I opened the box, I was immediately struck by how thoughtful the packaging was. The styrofoam was probably way more than it deserves (being a pretty light material) but everything is in its own little spot and it just looks quality. I bought the brown which is perfect with my umbrella which has the same dark brown color pole. It looks great and I am anxious to see how the whole thing stands up to the strong winds we have here. I debated between water and sand, but figured water was easier to deal with when I go to put this thing away for the winter.Update: we got our usual afternoon winds yesterday and left this on the patio: with the umbrella closed, it didn’t budge. But I wanted to use it today (strong breeze) and it blew over while the umbrella was open. I am pretty sure this only follows the laws of physics and would happen with just about any base. I’m not willing yet to spend a hundred dollars and buy something that’s 60 lbs or greater that I then have to lug around!

Original: Needed a replacement stand and this fit the bill very well. Easy to set up and looks to be quite sturdy. Really nice design features make it work well with various diameter umbrella poles. I like using water in the base for ease of maintenance and it weighs enough for a 10 ft dia. umbrella to be stable.
Just what is advertised, nice design features. Update- doesn't last much more than 3-yrs.

Update: This stand lasted just a bit over 3-years. Did it's job well until the case cracked. Won't hold the umbrella upright anymore and water evaps quickly with the hole in the top. If that is okay for you, then I would still recommend.Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2020
