Do you always show up for everyone else, get praised for your strength, and look like you have it all together while secretly experiencing intense worry, self-doubt, or fear of failure? Do you work hard to please others while feeling disconnected from the ‘real you’?

People with high-functioning anxiety (HFA) often appear competent and accomplished on the outside, but internally, it’s a very different story. HFA is rooted in fear – the fear of others seeing the ‘real’ us – and can lead to a cycle of overworking, overthinking, and self-criticism.

Award-winning psychologist Dr Lalitaa is here to tell you that you don’t have to live like this anymore. Weaving together scientific research with practical exercises and case studies, Dr Lalitaa offers a five-step plan that will radically shift how you see yourself. You’ll discover:

· the main symptoms of high-functioning anxiety and how they emerge in daily behaviour
· the two sides of high-functioning anxiety: how you see yourself vs. how you present yourself to the world
· how to release old modes of thinking and habitual thought patterns and replace them with healthy attitudes
· practical methods for creating and sustaining long-term lifestyle changes, so that you can calm the inner panic, find balance, and thrive

This transformational book will show you how to break the toxic cycle of high-functioning anxiety – for good.

Simran Kaur, author of Girls That Invest

I value giving people tools and frameworks for them to work through their issues rather than having the reader intellectualize their issues and stay in the same cycles. Dr. Lalitaa's
High-Functioning Anxiety artfully provides not just the information and context but also gives you the tools to work through issues as they arise. The practical exercises and self-reflection questions provided are transformative for individuals stuck in consistent patterns. I have been a fan of Lalitaa's work (and her as a person) for many years, and High-Functioning Anxiety might just be her best work to date. ― Sabrina Zohar, host of Do The Work podcast

Dr. Lalitaa helps you understand what it is you've been feeling and then tells you what you should do with it. Fascinating. ―
Mo Gawdat, entrepreneur and best-selling author

This book serves as a lifeline for those navigating the complexities of high-functioning anxiety, offering a path to authenticity, acceptance, and inner peace. Suglani's empathetic approach reminds readers that they are inherently enough, empowering them to thrive amidst internal challenges. ―

Rich with case studies, practical advice, professional and personal wisdom, this book offers solutions for those suffering the confusion of being unknowingly anxious and high-functioning. A must-read on the journey to healing. ―
Simone Heng, author of Let's Talk About Loneliness

High-functioning anxiety often results in us hiding from ourselves and avoiding the pain that is driving us, which leads to further suffering in the form of isolation and loneliness. Dr. Lalitaa's book is so special because she will help you feel less alone. In her warm and empathetic style, she will be your guide to more deeply understanding the history that has led you to this place, and then will hold your hand through a proven path to healing. I highly recommend this important book. ―
Alex Howard, founder of The Optimum Health Clinic and author of It's Not Your Fault

Break free from high-functioning anxiety with this ultimate guide to thrive, not just survive! ―
Shivani Pau, host of A Millennial Mind podcast

This feels like a book for our time. At its root, it’s an invitation – from somebody with powerful lived and learned experience – to live beyond the confines of the mind’s often fear-driven chatter, and break cycles. While Dr. Lalitaa has created the book for those who identify as having high-functioning anxiety, many more people are living with heightened levels of anxiety post pandemic – I’ve no doubt this book will be a huge support in the journey to unlearning and relearning for so many. ―
Jessica Huie, author of Purpose

High-Functioning Anxiety is an impactful read for anyone that has mastered the act of appearing 'fine' on the outside, but is inwardly struggling with self-doubt, fear of failure, or perfectionism. Dr. Lalitaa combines her lived experience with expert knowledge to provide readers with a supportive road map toward self-discovery and growth. ― Meredith Carder, ADHD coach and author of It All Makes Sense Now

This book explores how high achievers mask their anxiety and what they can do to help break the cycles. ―
