Such an informative and thorough guide to all areas of CFS/ME recovery. I'm so happy I picked up this book- I felt so heard, understood and seen, some of the experiences detailed could have been plucked from my own head! It reassured me about methods and strategies I've already been trying and introduced me to new concepts, arming me with knowledge about my health and leaving me feeling so empowered. I know it's a long old road but reading the 'Mindset' section helped me realise how far I've come and left me feeling hopeful about the future. 'Inspire yourself forwards but measure yourself backwards'. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone with CFS/ME or anyone with a loved one experiencing it. I'll definitely be reaching for this book again when I need some advice and direction!

As someone who has been living with chronic fatigue (and other symptoms) for several years now, I've tried so many strategies to try to keep symptoms at bay. I thought I already knew a lot about CFS but there was so much info that was new to me and it's wonderfully explained by Lauren. She breaks down complicated concepts into something that feels easy to understand and digest, and the book is an absolute gold mine of proven stategies to not only manage symptoms but get to the root cause(s) of CFS.

The first part of this book was very interesting and I did learn somethings I didn't know even after having CFS for 30+ years. There has been some research on symptoms on the things that I know happen to me and some that I have thought relevant for a while but GP's have dismissed. So thank you Lauren for highlighting them. However when it comes to the part where the author says she can help me get better, well I thought I might learn something new but found it all to be the same old same old with nothing new and that is because I have tried some of it and have found other ways like NLP not to be for me. Rather disappointing really.

I was very pleasantly surprised. A compelling read that explains the holistic functional medicine approach to recovering from CFS and supporting science in a way that’s easy to understand. It’s packed with practical tips and ideas. I’ve come away with a fresh perspective and renewed hope I will recover. Thank you.

I bought this book for a better understanding of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. As a hypnotherapist I want to have a good depth of knowledge for my clients.

What I love about this book is that it is written so concisely without unnecessary waffle. It is an academic book with a personal feel about it - Lauren explains about her struggles with CFS and this shows with the passion of her writing . Despite the indepth research and knowledge, i found the book to be an easy read and well written

Firstly, I am very selective on the books and information I consume on post viral diseases. However, Lauren’s book is really a fantastic resource. I genuinely think all doctors should be required to read it!

Most importantly, the emphasis on a holistic approach and really practical advice is what is so useful about this book. I have recommended it to many too who are too recovering from various post infectious syndromes. Thank you Lauren!!
