Founding Organizations
ALL IN was founded by #FirstRespondersFirst in partnership with the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation. #FirstRespondersFirst was an initiative launched by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Thrive Global, and CAA Foundation to care for our caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic as they cared for us and our communities.
The initiative took a whole human approach to addressing the needs of frontline workers in order to support their ability to serve on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Through #FirstRespondersFirst’s efforts, the initiative provided essential supplies, protective equipment, accommodations, child care, food, and critical mental health support and well-being resources to first responders and health workers around the world.
In three years, #FirstRespondersFirst:
- Supported 42 organizations responding to the physical and psychological needs of our first responders and health workers, including 14 healthcare systems and organizations to support systems-level solutions through the ALL IN Fund and the NurseHack4Health Pitch-A-Thon
- Launched the ALL IN: Wellbeing First for Healthcare campaign in partnership with Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation bringing together a coalition of 12 leading healthcare organizations representing over 1 million health worker voices
- Cultivated outstanding partnerships with key industry stakeholders such as Participant Media
- Mobilized to respond to the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India and the conflict in Ukraine
- Strengthened our support for nontraditional frontline workers and marginalized communities
- Continued to uplift conversations that destigmatize and normalize topics of mental health and well-being amongst first responders and health workers
In 2023, #FirstRespondersFirst fully transitioned its efforts to ALL IN: Wellbeing First for Healthcare. ALL IN is currently led by the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation with the founding partners Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Thrive Global, and CAA Foundation serving in an advisory role within the coalition.
We offer our sincere and continued gratitude to our donors, supporters, partners, implementing collaborators, and of course – the first responders and health workers – to whom our work is dedicated.
