Biography

Jamie C

Former Liverpool Football Club defender Jamie Carragher remains one of the club’s most recognisable faces. Vice-captain for 10 years, Jamie is one of Liverpool’s longest-serving players, with his career spanning 17 years. In 2001 Jamie won his first senior trophies with Liverpool, including the FA Cup and UEFA Cup. Internationally, he secured 38 senior England caps between 1999 and 2010.

Since retiring from the game in 2013 Jamie has built a successful career as a football pundit, working for Sky Sport and BT Sport.

Jamie launched our campaign for a brand new Surgical Neonatal Unit and is helping us raise £3 million for the state-of-the-art facility. Jamie has a strong personal connection with Alder Hey, spending the first six weeks of his life on our neonatal ward. Through his own charity, the 23 Foundation, Jamie has spread festive cheer across our campus with Christmas presents for patients. Generous with his time also, his visits create lasting memories for our families.
