There will be numerous rookies on the court tonight, including ninth overall pick Zach Edey. The dominant center played collegiate basketball at Purdue and was a force in the paint during his last two seasons. Since Memphis already has great guard play with Ja Morant, acquiring a highly skilled post player could help the team immensely next season.

Alongside Edey, fans will get to see second round pick Jaylen Wells play this evening. He is only 20 years old and played just one season at the Division I level in college. Despite his short stay, he performed well at Washington State and averaged nearly 13 points per game. Notably, he was a sharpshooter from beyond the arc, making almost 42% of his three-point shots last year.

Memphis lost their opening Summer League matchup yesterday, but the team saw Edey perform at a high level. He finished the night with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Meanwhile, Wells struggled mightily and shot 1-8 from the field, so he will try to play better for Memphis this evening.

The 76ers won their opening Summer League matchup because they had great performances from young guards. Second-year guard Ricky Council IV led the team with 29 points, shooting 50% from the field. Philadelphia also received a great performance from the 16th overall pick in this year’s draft, Jared McCain.

McCain finished the night with 15 points and shot 6-15 from the field. However, a key struggle for McCain was his three-point shot. He missed all six attempts from beyond the arc during the game, which he will try to fix during tonight’s matchup.
