Gulf Shores city leaders on Monday defended the addition of a $6.8 million covered practice pavilion as part of its overall new high school project, saying it will be used for “every sport we have,” and used by a majority of students who participate in extra-curricular activities.

But an attorney is calling into question one of the funding sources used to pay for it.
