T-Pain Says the ‘Pain’ in his Name Came From Running Out of White Claw

By Kyle O'Brien

Grammy Award-winning record producer and musician T-Pain is teaming with White Claw for a Fourth of July fan swag offer so they don’t run out of their favorite beverage over the long holiday weekend.

T-Pain and the hard seltzer brand have teamed up for the “Claw Cooler,” a cooler designed for an endless stock of ice-cold White Claw, without ice. The magic inside involves a specialized sensor that detects when the stock is running low and prompts the user’s smartphone whether they need to refill.

The Claw Cooler is temperature controlled via a rechargeable battery and it boasts an LCD interface for emptiness levels and alerts. It also has waterproof Bluetooth speakers so, if you want to get in a T-Pain mood, you can blast his music all summer long.

In a promo video, T-Pain is found at a summer party that is fizzling because someone took the last White Claw out of a sadly empty cooler. He tells the host, “that’s where the ‘pain’ comes from,” though he clarifies that isn’t even remotely true.

A sweepstakes gives fans a chance to win a Claw Cooler and $1,000 gift card for summer celebrations by being a new or existing member of the White Claw Shore Club at whiteclaw.com/clawcooler.

DoorDash is also assisting in the refill process with $0 delivery deals through July 7 to help make sure no cooler runs out of White Claw this Fourth of July weekend.

The campaign comes from agency VCCP, with production by Good Behavior.

The campaign will live on the dedicated web page as well as T-Pain’s Instagram, as well as White Claw social channels.
