Paraules clau: brollador d'aigua calenta, espai cultual, ceràmica, neolític /bronze final Abstract: This communication aims to present a set of handmade pottery and a lithic object, recovered in 1975 by Mr. Joan Hernandes of the Maurí Foundation, which show that some Neolithic communities were aware of the existence of hot springs in the current population of La Garriga with all the benefits they bring to human beings. Due to the characteristics of these materials we believe that it might have been a deliberate deposit, made with votive purposes. Searching for parallels, we see that findings of prehistoric times associated to the health-related properties of many thermal sources are becoming more numerous, those thermal sources must have become points of worship, as we can suppose in our specific case. The concentration of pottery located we interpret as possible offerings in evocation to the healing benefits of these waters. 291

Abstract. MICROVERTEBRATE TAPHONOMY OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE CUEVA TIXI (LATE PLEISTOCENE–LATE HOLOCENE) EASTERN TANDILIA (BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE, ARGENTINA). The taphonomic attributes of a sample of microvertebrates composed by 67805 remains, from the archaeological site Cueva Tixi (Eastern Tandilia, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina), were analyzed. Mammals, birds, frogs, snakes and fish were recorded with natural or anthropogenic modifications in a sequence of 11000 years (Late Pleistocene–late Holocene). The largest proportion of the sample including rodents, didelphid marsupials, birds, frogs and some fish has traces of gastric digestion and skeletal proportions that suggests that it was deposited by nocturnal prey birds. These accumulations of bones have very homogeneous alterations throughout the stratigraphic sequence. The accumulation of snakes would have occurred by circumstantial death on the cave. The skeletal remains of cavid rodents, from the latest Holocene, have cut marks of artifacts and a skeletal preservation which demonstrate its anthropogenic manipulation. The most frequent alterations were post-depositional breakage. Roots marks and mineral deposits presented increasing or decreasing trends in its frequencies in the sequence. KEY WORDS. Bone modifications. Owl pellets. Skeletal preservation.

The aim of this paper is to present the results of the archaeofaunal analysis carried out on bone materials recovered at the Orejas de Burro archaeological site (OB1), in the Pali Aike lava field (“CVPA”), Santa Cruz, Argentina. Two independently excavated sectors were considered, one corresponding to a burial area located at the bottom of the cave, and the other one corresponding to a test pit placed next to the burial area. Chronologically, two assemblages were identified, the first one corresponding to the early Late Holocene (ca. 3.500 14C years BP), and the second one to the later Late Holocene (ca. 1.700-500 años 14C AP). The obtained results show statistically significant differences in the manifestation of taphonomic variables and in the frequency and diversity of faunal species both, spatially and temporally. In particular, a more intensive use of the cave at around 3.500 14C years BP is inferred, coincidental with a higher representativeness of coastal taxa like mollusk and sea/coastal birds. Such species may have been exploited during logistic movements to the Magellan strait carried out by hunter gatherers from the inland
ABSTRACT Some years ago, the Town Hall of Medinilla (Avila) tried to set up their own Municipal Archive, and so all the official documents of historic value were classified. Among those documents,
