Abax Investments is 16% owned by three charitable trusts established by the staff at Abax. These trusts aim to make a positive contribution to South African society. The team at Abax are actively involved in the administration as well as the ongoing work of the trusts, as part of their efforts to build a better future for South Africa.

The Abax Development Trust was established to address some of the systemic disadvantages constraining the potential of economically and socially disadvantaged children. The trust supports, via the income generated from its shareholding in Abax, organizations that provide learning and development support to young children, giving them a better chance of becoming upstanding and contributing South Africans.

The Abax Foundation was established to support, via the income generated from its shareholding in Abax and its unitholding in Abax Funds, environmental and conservation related projects in South Africa.
