EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - As we enter into July, summer camps are in full swing! On Tuesday, we headed over to Castle South to check out the Summer of Separation camp, put on by ND Kendrick and Pocket City Basketball.

This is the second year for the camp, and Kendrick says the goal is to provide a positive outlet for kids in the summer. The camp ran for four weeks, providing kids with drills to use the rest of the summer to set themselves apart as athletes. But, it’s not just ND at the reins of the camp, he calls on others, and today, some local talent, to help out.

“What we wanted to do was we wanted to bring some professional basketball players, some great high school coaches, some great high school players in to provide them with some education and to learn how to dribble with their left hand, just to give them some confidence to where they know that they can make their school team come the winter time,” said ND Kendrick.

Trent Sisley was one of the special guests. The top recruit came to speak with campers and pass on some lessons.

“It shows the kids that a young man that’s willing to grind can grow up in Santa Claus, Indiana and end up at Montverde Academy down in Florida, which is probably the best high school in the country,” said Kendrick. “He’s put in the work, and we just want kids to be able to see that, and that they can also put in that work as well.”

Isaiah Swope also made an appearance and spoke to campers. Check out 14news.com for our full stories with Swope and Sisley.
