EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - There’s big news downtown.
Sycamore Street has officially reopened!
Officials say this is the end of the street closures related to the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Toyota Trinity Storm Water Park project.
Street closures for the project have been going on since October 2022.
[Update: Remains of 68 people found during downtown sewer work]
Officials say there were several delays due to supply issues, weather, and most notably, the discovery of human remains from a pioneer cemetery dating back to the 1800s.
