About Kauai, HI Nightlife
For nightlife, Kauai doesn't have huge raging nightclubs with laser lights lights, but it has its fair share of bars and restaurants that offer live music and dancing on a regular basis. The highest concentration of these are in Lihue and Kapa'a on the east side, as well as Hanalei on the North Shore. Kauai's late night bars are always inhabited by a blend of locals and visitors alike, mingling, playing pool, watching sports, and dancing.
Restaurants slash bars such as Tahiti Nui and Bouchon's Hanalei offer live music every Friday and Saturday nights. Bands are usually local and play either reggae, Hawaiian music, or cover rock songs. Another common type of nightlife on Kauai is simply late dinners out with friends at trendy restaurants such as Bar Acuda in Hanalei, or Keoki's in Poipu.
Partying on Kauai is generally a casual affair. Dressing up a bit is common, but it's also perfectly acceptable to head out in a beach dress or shorts and a t-shit. Flip flops are a common sight in the bars and restaurants, since Kauai nightlife reflects the casual style of island.
