HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — First-year Marshall men’s basketball coach Cornelius Jackson continues to look to add depth to the Herd roster, particularly in the backcourt.
The latest addition is Kaiden White, a 6-foot-4 native of Orlando, Florida. White became a recent member of the Marshall roster after wrapping up his prep career last winter at Orlando’s Olympia High School.
Regarded as a combo guard, White was Olympia’s second-leading scorer last season and averaged 13 points to go with four assists. White’s efforts led to him being named to the Orlando Sentinel All-Area First Team.
“We’re ecstatic to have Kaiden join our Marshall men’s basketball family,” Jackson said. “Kaiden’s a long, athletic combo guard with big-time playmaking and shooting abilities. We can’t wait to get him here and acclimated with the rest of our guys.”

Herd That’s roster for the upcoming version of the Basketball Tournament has grown with a familiar face to Herd fans.
Former Marshall guard DeAndre Kane has joined Herd That for its quest to make a run in TBT, which begins Friday, July 19 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Kane is a four-time TBT champion and enjoyed three strong seasons in college at Marshall before playing one year at Iowa State. Kane never averaged fewer than 15 points in college, and the 35-year-old averaged 16 points for his career with the Herd and Cyclones.
Kane joins a roster heavy on past Marshall players, including: Jon Elmore, Jarrod West, Rondale Watson and Stevie Browning.
Other members of Herd That, a semifinalist in last year’s event, include small forward Chris Coakley from UAB, forward JP Tokoto from North Carolina, power forward Nick McGlyn from Drake and guards Tyrus McGee from Iowa State and Xavier Munford from Rhode Island.
Herd That is the top seed in the Lexington Regional, which will be played at Rupp Arena. The team’s opening opponent is Jackson, Tennessee Boom.
