Goodwin led MHS to a 41-14 record under his leadership. Morgantown won the Class AAAA state championship in 2023 and they finished as the state runners-up this winter.
“I have had the pleasure to watch countless numbers of our young ladies become tremendously successful both on and off the court,” Goodwin said in a letter to the MHS community.
“Their successes are what we have been most proud of. They have become successful college players, doctors, nurses, med techs, lawyers, scientists, business women and coaches. More importantly, parents themselves.”
The Mohigans went 23-5 in 2023 en route to the program’s tenth state championship. MHS went 18-9 in 2024.
Prior to being promoted to head coach in April of 2023, Goodwin had coached from the youth and middle school levels for two decades. He was elevated to Jason White’s staff in 2013 and was a key part of Morgantown’s run of back-to-back-to-back state championships at the Class AAA level.
