CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. (WSVN) - An investigation is underway in Coral Springs after a man was killed in a shooting.

Coral Springs Police arrived at the Club Lake Point Apartments located at 225 Lakeview Drive, Monday morning.

Cellphone video, shared with 7News, shows the aftermath of the shooting.

“Oh man,” a witness said. “Oh, we got a real situation here. Dude is shot.”

In the video, the body of the victim is seen on the ground. As police arrive, another man approaches police with his hands up.

The dispatcher calls indicate that the victim and the shooter knew each other.

“Caller heard shots, sees someone on the ground,” said a dispatcher over Broadcastify police scanner. “Second caller advises he shot a male.”

In one call to 911, it appeared that the shooter placed the call.

“Suspect advising he shot in self defense and he says there is a male on the ground, has a gun also,” said the dispatcher.

7Skyforce hovered over the scene, where the body was covered.

Officers said they found the victim in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. After attempting to render aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A gun, police said, was found at the parking lot.

The body has since been removed by the Medical Examiners Officer.

“Advise the caller to not have the weapon on his possession when we arrive,” said an officer.

Detectives are said to be questioning the subject as they work to investigate what led up to the shooting.

Police said there is no danger to the community and that everyone involved in this incident has been accounted for.

The shooter has not been arrested and is said to be fully cooperating with this investigation. An update is expected on Tuesday.
