We are thrilled to announce that Tib and Harmony, two penguins who were seriously injured due to human abuse, have been successfully returned to their original colony after more than a year of intensive care. Their journey was challenging, but with the dedicated efforts of Penguin Rehab & Release, they are now swimming free and thriving in the wild!
Tib & Harmony’s Release: A Success Story
Tib and Harmony had a great deal to overcome during their time with Penguin Rehab & Release. They both came in from the same colony after a horrific and senseless act of cruelty. Tib had to recover from a broken tibia, requiring specialist orthopaedic surgery, while Harmony battled myopathy, a life-threatening muscle condition.
Their recovery journey was slow but filled with love and care. Over time, Tib and Harmony developed a strong bond and became a mated pair. They went through their moult together, growing new waterproof feathers before being ready for release. Alongside them, another penguin from the same colony, P20, also recovered from fishing-line entanglement injuries and was released with Tib and Harmony.
Their release was a momentous and emotional event, as all three penguins rejoined their colony seamlessly. Tib, Harmony, and P20 were welcomed back by two rafts of penguins, symbolizing the success of their rehabilitation and the importance of the work done at Penguin Rehab & Release.
Our focus now shifts to helping other penguins in need, including our newest resident, Bella.
Bella is currently receiving care at Penguin Rehab & Release in North-West Tasmania, a centre dedicated to rehabilitating penguins that are sheltered due to illness, injuries, or misadventures. Our mission is to prepare these beautiful creatures for a successful release back into the wild, and we need your help to make this possible.
Bella’s Story
Bella joined the Rescue Centre after being found entangled in fishing line, suffering from severe injuries. She requires specialized care and rehabilitation to recover fully. Your donations will directly support Bella’s recovery, ensuring she receives the best possible care.

We are gathering donations to cover the costs of Bella’s rehabilitation and support the ongoing care of other penguins at the center. Your contributions will directly assist in covering the costs of medical treatments, specialized food, and the maintenance of our facilities.

Our projects fall into two main categories:
Ocean Projects (Friend of the Sea projects): These are projects closely related to our seas and oceans.
Earth Projects ( Friend of the Earth projects): These are projects closely related to land.

About Us
The World Sustainability Foundation (WSF) is a non-profit Segment of the World Sustainability Organization (WSO) which aims to protect and improve the environment by promoting a culture of sustainable development.
Chaired by the economist and environmentalist Paolo Bray, some of the foundation’s commitments include land enhancement, protection of marine and terrestrial resources and habitats, and the development of campaigns to protect endangered species.

One Guest – One Tree Planted
We created a brand new project whose goal is to plant a tree for every guest of tourist facilities such as hotels, resorts, B&Bs, campsites, etc.

Tree Planting Locations: Where Are We Planting
Central Africa
The trees are planted in any of the following countries: Mali, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, or Kenya.
This specific project is in collaboration with Trees for the Future.

It is estimated that 1,000 trees absorb about roughly 36 Metric Tonnes of CO2 over 20 years, contributing to the fight against climate change.
Dozens of people from local communities are involved in planting and monitoring efforts, earning compensation for their valuable contributions.
Indonesia
Based in Semarang (Central Java), this project improves biodiversity, the environment and the lives of farmers in local communities through tree planting and education. Community forestry is used in this project, which is recognised as a key strategy to promote Sustainable Forest management and reduce poverty in rural areas of developing countries. Tens of thousands of local families have been involved in this project.
These are the species we are planting:
– Toona sureni
– Parkia speciosa
– Syzygium aromaticum
– Tectona grandis
The goal is to plant around 25,000 of the above-mentioned trees.
