Michigan football is on double-commit watch. Here are five recruits who could pledge next

On Sunday, Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore didn’t just tweet out his famed eyeball emoji — indicating the Wolverines obtained a pledge, but it hadn’t yet gone public — once. He posted the eyeball emojis twice. Thus, the Wolverines are expecting two new additions to the class.

There are multiple recruits expected to announce their decisions in the coming days, and the Wolverines are likely to regain momentum after losing some prospects who appeared likely to join the class. With that in mind, we’re predicting which players could be next to commit and when their decisions could come.

4-star S Ivan Taylor

Announcement date: Anytime

Ranking: No. 41 overall (247Sports and ESPN)

Taylor has been committed to Notre Dame since Dec. 2023 but on Sunday, he received two On3 predictions that he’ll flip to Michigan football. Could Taylor be one of the commits Sherrone Moore is referring to? Given the timing, it would not surprise if he dropped sooner than later.

4-star TE Andrew Olesh

Announcement date: Monday, July 8

Ranking: No. 78 overall (On3)

Olesh has long been trending to Ann Arbor, but Alabama and Florida made a late push. However, with his decision fast approaching, it feels like he could be in the fold sooner than later.

3-star WR Phillip Wright III

Announcement date: Saturday, July 13

Ranking: No. 415 overall (On3 industry ranking)

Wright has also been long trending to Ann Arbor, especially when Georgia filled up at receiver. With Taz Williams apparently trending to Penn State, it seems clear there are two options left for Michigan at receiver: Wright and four-star Andrew Marsh.

5-star OL Andrew Babalola

Announcement date: This month

Ranking: No. 14 overall (247Sports)

It appears to be a Michigan and Stanford battle with the Wolverines having a late surge in his recruitment. Stanford still holds the lead in the On3 recruiting prediction machine, but the latest intel appears to favor the maize and blue. According to The Wolverine’s EJ Holland, Babalola could make a decision in the coming weeks.

4-star WR Andrew Marsh

Announcement date: August or November

Ranking: No. 14 overall (247Sports)

Marsh appears to be in good standing to end up in the class, but the likelihood of him being among the next commitments is slim. The four-star receiver plans to make his commitment either in August or November, in honor of his departed father. Could he move up his timeline? It’s possible, but not probable.
