Anacostia River's first legal swim postponed again due to E.coli concerns

The first legal, organized swim in the Anacostia River has yet again been postponed due to insufficient water quality.

The first annual Anacostia River Splash was scheduled for Saturday, June 29. However, a last-minute testing of water samples has revealed dangerous levels of E.coli.

The event would have marked the first time in 50 years that residents would have been permitted to swim in D.C.'s "forgotten river."
