Season 2 of the #ReimagineRural podcast launched today! I'm once again visiting rural and small towns across the U.S. to collect the stories of local leaders whose places are experiencing change. This season, I'll be looking at how rural towns are managing new opportunities as the economy changes and new place-based federal resources are available. This often includes engagement with outside interests and investment, and spurs new kinds of civic collaboration. Episode one features Humboldt KS & New Berlin NY as I explore what might be described as the rural version of corporate social responsibility. In episode two, I travel to another Humboldt – Humboldt County, CA – to explore the importance of doing things differently if a major offshore wind installation is to fulfill its promise of prosperity for local Tribes & residents. More episodes coming on broadband, new manufacturing, housing, and other issues. Subscribe wherever you listen! Reimagine Rural is a labor of love and is a product of a wonderful team at The Brookings Institution.
