Summary:

The manager of utilization management will lead two or more full-time utilization management coordinators. The position requires excellent communication skills. The manager should have the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients. It is important that the manager exhibits good judgment, knowing when to seek guidance and direction. The ability to confidentially manage privileged patient and proprietary business information is essential.

Experience:

  • two or more years in utilization management
  • navigating utilization management client/patient tracking software
  • computer – Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe
  • communication – customer service, written, telephone

Education: Associate degree preferred

Responsibilities:

  • call center management – intake schedule, delegation compliance, performance reporting, appeals, complaints, and grievances, continuity plan
  • understanding of telephone platforms
  • point of contact for membership concerns and contract services
  • quality management committee reporting as needed.
  • annual collection of clients summary plan description and updated benefit summary
  • oversight of all client-specific letters including relevant demographics
  • knowledge of utilization management clients, contracted services, and fee schedules
  • schedule staff meetings, and other relevant meetings.
  • work with Director. to complete annual staff evaluations

Salary: 46k-49k
