We’ve reached a sobering milestone in our mission to end sexual violence. As of 2024, RAINN has supported 4.5 million survivors and their loved ones through our victim services, and the demand for our work continues to grow. Each one of those 4.5 million calls, online interactions, and text messages were handled by a dedicated member of our RAINN team. Our unwavering commitment to supporting survivors remains the driving force behind our existence as the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the nation. We’re humbled to be a part of so many survivors’ healing journey. You can help, too, by sharing RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Hotline and our resources so that everyone who needs help can get it. ☎️ 800.656.HOPE and 💬 online.rainn.org & rainn.org/es

🖥️ 🌐 The EU is calling on Meta to provide details by Dec. 22 on how they are going to take action to protect children on their platforms. Child sexual abuse material, CSAM, is a time-sensitive issue and has reached crisis proportions globally. In 2022, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) received 32 million Cyber-Tipline reports of apparent CSAM. Facebook alone logged 21 million reports. Despite the proliferation of these criminal images, online child sexual exploitation has not received a consistent and forceful response from the technology industry. To truly protect children, tech companies need to take the next step beyond reporting CSAM—they need to take action to stamp it out. https://lnkd.in/g38Rc25Z Learn about the EARN IT Act and how RAINN is working to compel tech companies to address CSAM here 👉https://lnkd.in/g334GM6u

This #TransAwarenessWeek we're uplifting our guide with The Trevor Project on how to support LGBTQ victims and survivors. For LGBTQ victims and survivors of sexual violence, finding accessible care and nonjudgemental support can present additional hurdles when navigating trauma. This is especially true for LGBTQ young people whose lived experience includes sexual violence. That’s why we at The Trevor Project and RAINN partnered together to create a guide on how to support LGBTQ victims and survivors and let LGBTQ young people know that you’re a safe person to turn to. Holding space and standing beside LGBTQ victims and survivors, through the challenges, triumphs, and messy middle of life during and after trauma, is a necessary step in healing together. Your allyship and empathy to those whose lived experience includes sexual violence is solidarity in action. Read the full guide ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gaSAxxfJ
