A new CDC study found that pharmacies participating in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program (FRPP) administered two thirds of all bivalent COVID-19 vaccine doses in the U.S. from September 2022 – September 2023. The FRPP provided vaccine access for people across a wide range of age, racial, and ethnic groups, demonstrating that this program could serve as a model to provide health services in other public health emergencies: https://bit.ly/mm7313a2

A person in the U.S. tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) A(H5N1) virus. This human infection does not change the risk assessment for the U.S. general public, which CDC considers to be low. People with close or prolonged, unprotected exposures to infected birds or other animals, or to environments contaminated by infected birds or other animals, are at greater risk of infection. https://bit.ly/3VSHQnD
