As Election Day approaches, here’s a look at voters’ issue priorities, based mainly on a Pew Research Center survey conducted Oct. 10-16.

In less than a decade, the share of Americans who go “cashless” in a typical week has increased by double digits.

Most say that, compared with five years ago, those who commit sexual harassment or assault at work are more likely to be held responsible and those who report it are more likely to be believed.

Abortion has risen as an election issue for Latinos, with a majority saying it should be legal in all or most cases. Meanwhile, 80% say the economy is a very important issue when deciding who to vote for in the upcoming congressional midterm elections, a greater share than any other issue.

Women have overtaken men and now account for more than half (50.7%) of the college-educated labor force in the United States.

Despite the growth of commercial sports betting, the most common way that Americans bet on sports is with friends or family.

PayPal is used by a majority of U.S. adults (57%). Smaller shares report ever using Venmo (38%), Zelle (36%) or Cash App (26%).

Black Americans support significant reforms to or complete overhauls of several U.S. institutions to ensure fair treatment. Yet even as they assess inequality and ideas about progress, many are pessimistic about whether society and institutions will change in ways that would reduce racism.

While the economy remains the dominant issue in this fall’s midterm elections, the issue of abortion has increased markedly in importance. More voters continue to view their midterm vote as an expression of opposition to Joe Biden than support for him. But across both parties, more voters now say Biden is not much of a factor in their vote.

16% of U.S. adults say they have ever invested in, traded or used a cryptocurrency such as bitcoin or ether.
