UCF Veterans History Project

On Veterans Day 2020, Commissioner Nikki Fried announced that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has joined the University of Central Florida’s Community Veterans History Project to honor and memorialize the personal accounts of veterans who are members of Florida’s agriculture community.

UCF’s History Department records video interviews with veterans from the Florida agriculture community and compiles a digital history that highlights their personal story and military service. The histories are retained at UCF’s library, and many are submitted to the Library of Congress. The veterans featured served in conflicts from World War II to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and represent all branches of the military. A list of current veteran participants is below.

Note: Some of the participants are still in the middle of their interviews. Others have completed their interviews, but their videos are still being processed. Links to these videos will be added as soon as they are available.
