Veteran news anchor Terry Keenan died on Thursday night of a massive cerebral hemorrhage, according to several reports. She was believed to be 53.
Her sister, Linda, confirmed the news to TVNewser on Friday, remembering her as a trailblazer and “beloved mother.”
“It is with tremendous sorrow that we report the passing, due to a massive cerebral hemorrhage, of a wonderful mother, wife, sister, and pioneering financial journalist,” Linda wrote. “Terry was a trailblazer who credited much of her success to her beloved mother’s emphasis on education, which led her to Holy Names Academy in Albany, NY, and a math scholarship to Johns Hopkins University.”
She most recently worked as a business columnist for The New York Post. After working as a producer at CNN, Keenan got her first anchoring gig in 1995 at CNBC, according to IMDb. After that, she returned to CNN in 1999, where was a senior correspondent for CNN Business News and anchor of Moneyline Weekend Edition with Terry Keenan. She then moved to Fox News in 2002, where was worked as an anchor and business correspondent and host of Cashin’ In.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Kass; their son, Benjamin Kass; and her two sisters, Joellen Gardner and Linda Keenan.
