Will Smith bringing 'Hitch' comedy series to Fox
The date doctor is coming to television.
EW has confirmed that Fox is developing a comedy series based on 2005’s Hitch, starring Will Smith and Kevin James. The half-hour, single-camera series is being described as “a workplace comedy that explores dating and sexual politics.” Will Smith and Jada Smith will executive produce alongside Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, who will write the script, and Overbrook Entertainment’s James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett.
Hitch raked in close to $370 million worldwide at the box office. It follows Smith’s Alex “Hitch” Hitchens, a professional dating consultant put to the test when Albert Brennaman (James) wants to land a girl way out of his league.
This is just the latest of a long list of upcoming series based on movies, including the just-announced Monster in Law, also on Fox, Marley & Me, Big, and more.
Jim Carrey introduces us to his 'girlfriend' in new 'SNL' promos
Promos are out for this week’s Saturday Night Live with host, Jim Carrey, and musical guest, Iggy Azalea. The videos show Carrey, who is hosting for the third time, and Aidy Bryant, who are apparently dating now. Carrey, for example, treats viewers to one of his world-famous impressions, this time with Bryant as his subject. Oh, and did we mention this is the Halloween episode? Carrey dons a Jason-esque mask, knife in hand. Other frights are in store. Watch the promos here, if you dare:
'Bewitched' follow-up about Samantha's granddaughter lands at NBC
The highly sought-after followup to Bewitched has finally found a home at NBC, EW has confirmed.
The network confirmed on Wednesday that it has given a pilot commitment to the followup, penned by The Vow writers Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. It follows Daphne, Samantha’s granddaughter and Tabitha’s daughter, who is now a single twentysomething with magical powers. According to Deadline, who first reported the news, she soon realizes that her seemingly perfect life is missing one thing: love.
The original series starring Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha aired from 1964 to 1972. Tabitha, an ABC spinoff centering on her daughter Tabitha, ran from 1977 to 1978.
The new Bewitched followup is produced by Sony TV and Lucy Fisher and Douglas Wick’s Red Wagon Entertainment, the team behind 2005’s Bewitched film with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. Daniel Rappaport is executive producing.

'Grey's Anatomy': Can Callie and Arizona's marriage survive?
Calzona fans are in for a roller coaster ride during this week’s Callie and Arizona-centric episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
After years of skirting around their issues—from Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) leaving for Africa, during which time Callie (Sara Ramirez) got knocked up by Mark, to Arizona losing her leg and eventually cheating on her wife—the couple will finally sit down for a much-needed therapy session.
Fox orders more 'Red Band Society' scripts
Potentially good news for fans of Fox’s Red Band Society: The network has ordered four more scripts of the Wednesday night Glee-meets-The Fault in Our Stars drama series.
The move keeps the production’s momentum underway should the network want to fully commit to more episodes. In renewal/cancellation terms, such a decision typically means the network hasn’t made up its mind yet on a show’s fate (previously, Fox ordered six more episodes of new Monday night drama Gotham).
Red Band Society has struggled in the overnight ratings, with the most recent episode delivering 3.2 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. The show is being boosted about 70-80 percent via DVR, however, which are considered high percentages. See Adrianne Palicki of 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' in super-spy mode as Mockingbird

Last night’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. featured the debut of Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent better known by her superhero codename, Mockingbird. While Morse was introduced as a Hydra agent in last night’s episode, it was all a clever ploy by Coulson to extract Simmons from Hydra HQ when her cover was blown. But the question remained—when would Morse go full Mockingbird?
Turns out the answer is very, very soon—next week, in fact. On Wednesday, Marvel released the first image of Adrianne Palicki in Agent Bobbi Morse’s ‘Tactical Suit.’ Much like Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanova/Black Widow or Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Morse is more of an ass-kicking super-spy with an awesome codename than a traditional superhero, and her new look is consistent with the ones we’ve seen the other characters adopt so far.
Morse’s new outfit will debut during next week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., along with the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
