Starting with the details, while MSI isn't sharing much, we can tell from the pictures that we took that the Z890 EDGE variant will be featured in the MSI MPG family and offer a massive upgrade in terms of design with its all-white aesthetics with hints of silver color across the heatsinks and MSI dragon logos. The motherboard comes with dual 8-pin connectors to power the LGA 1851 socket and what's interesting is that the connectors are placed on the right side of the PCB which makes them easy to connect. Furthermore, the I/O on this motherboard will include a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot & one PCIe 4.0 slot along with four M.2 slots of which one is placed in the bigger heatsink with the EDGE logo.

The motherboard also comes with an additional 8-pin connector for the PCIe lanes where needed and there are a range of IO ports five USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbps) ports and dual USB4 Type-C ports. It also comes with a Clear CMOS a Flashback button on the back and WIFI 7 support.

The second motherboard in MSI's Intel Z890 motherboard showcase was a PRO variant which kind of looks like the Gigabyte AERO G series with the white and black aesthetics. This motherboard has the same right-sided 8-pin power connectors and features four M.2 slots of which there are 3 Gen4 and a single Gen5 slot. The motherboard also comes with all the latest QoL improvements such as EZ PCIe Release, Screwless M.2 Shield Frozr, EZ M.2 Clip II, & EX Antenna. The motherboard will be an entry-level offering within the Z890 family.

Besides the Z890 motherboards, MSI is also showcasing its latest Z790 MPOWER motherboard which comes with the latest Mini_CUDIMM slots that are co-designed by MSI & Intel and feature circuits that are optimized for near-perfect equality, ensure low latency, and offer extreme OC. The motherboard itself has a 12+1+1 DRPS power design and is powered by a dual 8-pin power connector interface.

Lastly, there's the recently unveiled MSI Z790 PROJECT ZERO PLUS motherboard which comes with the CAMM2 memory module support. The memory used is based on SK Hynix DRAM dies and is expected to push memory speeds high compared to traditional DDR5 SO-DIMM designs. It looks like almost every motherboard manufacturer has at least one CAMM2 design on display so it looks like the standard is taking off this year and we can expect more mainstream client PC applications on the desktop platform in the next few years.
