Mitch arrived in D.C. in 2018 as City Paper’s Loose Lips reporter, and he became managing editor in September 2021. As LL, he focused on the squabblesoopsies, and blunders that sustain D.C. politics. He’s also reported and edited stories on criminal justice, policing, housing, and government spending. In 2023, he launched City Paper’s Inside Voices column that highlights the perspectives and writings of incarcerated people and returned citizens. He is originally from St. Louis, where the pizza and bagels are much better.
