Never Look Away: Serge Daney’s Film Criticism
July 13 @ 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM
FreeOn the occasion of the publication of Footlights (Semiotext(e)), the long-awaited translation of the late French film critic Serge Daney’s seminal first book La Rampe (1983), the National Gallery presents two programs featuring films Daney considered beacons of the radical cinema of the 1970s. The screenings will be introduced by Footlights’ translator Nicholas Elliott, former New York correspondent for Cahiers du Cinéma. Screenings programmed by Elliott and organized by Joanna Raczynska, inspired by Film at Lincoln Center’s Never Look Away: Serge Daney’s Radical 1970s, curated by Nicholas Elliott and Madeline Whittle.
Free. Registration required.
