Meeting people where they are; but not leaving them there.

Voices of Hope’s mobile outreach recovery program meets people where they are literally and figuratively.

The vans, one each in Lexington and Louisville, literally provide services where people live or gather. You might find us at:

    • Encampments of people experiencing homelessness
    • Parking lots of partners who serve people who are experiencing homelessness or are engaging in sex work, people living in marginalized housing
    • Underserved neighborhoods

We also meet people where they are in their recovery journey and move forward with them. To do this we provide:

  • Onsite recovery coaching to link to wrap-around services in the community
  • Overdose response training and naloxone distribution
  • Safer use supplies such as wound care kits, fentanyl test strips, and information on safer use
  • Essential items such as hygiene kits, socks, gloves, and snacks

The program is run by a recovery coach, an assistant and a volunteer. Please consider volunteering for the impactful program!

“Having had a child that was homeless in three different cities while he struggled to find recovery from his substance use problems, I have come to appreciate the difficulty that a person who is homeless faces each and every day of their life.  Being able to give back in some small way to that community by volunteering with the Mobile Program at VOH, not only increases my compassion for those individuals, but it fills me up spiritually.  Having had a child whose life has been transformed and restored allows me to live my mantra: To whom much is given, much is required.  Thank you, Voices of Hope, for giving me the opportunity to be part of the solution for our homeless community.
