Volunteers are at the heart of Voices of Hope’s efforts to promote a recovery ready community! Some volunteers perform regularly scheduled jobs like assisting with weekly Telephone Recovery Support calls. Others serve as special event volunteers, such as for Voices of Hope’s Recovery Awareness Day event, or provide administrative assistance. Volunteers also interact with the public, representing VOH and the recovery community through speaking engagements.
Each of our volunteers brings an enthusiasm for recovery and a desire to make a difference for people impacted by addiction. In addition you may find that volunteering helps you to develop new skills, meet new friends, enhance your education or even redeem the pain you have experienced if you are personally impacted by substance use disorder.

Our volunteer opportunities include:

Overdose Response Training

If you have a medical background, a passion for the medical field or simply wish to help with overdose response trainings this is the project for you! Volunteers help prepare for trainings by packing naloxone kits for distribution and prepare training materials and then help train our community on overdose response.

Voices of Hope's Annual Recovery Awareness Day Event

This annual event takes place at Jacobson Park in August. This is a great project to volunteer for if you have a few hours on a Saturday to dedicate to loving on the recovery community and honoring the lives we have lost to overdose. Volunteers help with this project in various ways from passing out t-shirts and bottles of water to set up and clean up. This event is family friendly!

Telephone Recovery Support (TRS)

If you love talking on the phone or having meaningful conversations this is the place for you! Our TRS volunteers make phone calls to participants in recovery to offer support and resources. This is a great project to volunteer for if you want to make a commitment of a few hours a month to Voices of Hope.

“Voices of Hope’s Telephone Recovery Support program came into my life at exactly the perfect time. After making a few of my very first calls, it became clear that it truly helps me too. I get just as much if not more out of the calls that I have the privilege of making as the person on the receiving end. I am very grateful that Voices of Hope has given me the opportunity to be a small part of something that has the potential to help so many people out there who are just like me, still just trying to stay clean one day at a time.”
