👩💻 Every June 23rd, the International Day of #WomenInEngineering takes place. Its purpose? Acknowledging the work of women in this field (who continue to be a minority) and motivating young people to become interested in this field and pursue careers in engineering. 🤔 So, with that in mind, we asked five female devs and PMs from the Xmartlabs team what they value about working in an industry with many advantages and what things they feel should change. 👏 Recognizing the contributions of women in engineering is crucial. 🏳️🌈 With June comes #PrideMonth, and many brands and businesses decide to join through their social media by changing their logo or posting about it. This is a movement often criticized and known as “rainbow washing" 🌈 👉 This criticism is rooted in the fact that, despite this seemingly massive and widespread support, workplace harassment continues to be a major problem for the LGTBIQ+ community. 📊 This claim is demonstrated by two different studies: a global index and a Latin American survey. From Xmartlabs we try to make conscious efforts to achieve this, knowing we are still in a continuous learning process.
