A man was critically wounded Saturday by gunfire in a gang-related shooting that occurred right in front of a police station in South Los Angeles.

The gunfire erupted at 1:30 a.m. in front of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Station at 7600 S. Broadway, and officers immediately detained three men, said the station’s Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez.

One of the men suffered several gunshot wounds to his abdomen and was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, Bojorquez said.

Investigators determined the group of men are gang members and became involved in an argument when one of the men shot another.

The other two men, one of whom was the shooter, were taken into custody at the scene without incident, Bojorquez said.
