The tragic cause of death for iconic adult film actress Jesse Jane has been confirmed.

At the age of 43, Jesse Jane was found deceased in her Oklahoma residence this January, initially suspected to have succumbed to an overdose. The discovery was made when police conducted a welfare check at her home, where they also found her boyfriend Brett Hasenmueller lifeless.

The welfare check was initiated after Brett's employer raised concerns about not hearing from him for several days. Police have now provided details on the incident.

As per TMZ, which referenced information from the Oklahoma City Medical Examiner's office, it has been determined that Jesse died due to an "accidental fentanyl and cocaine overdose". Further specifics regarding the case have yet to be disclosed.

Known off-screen as Cindy Howell, Jesse's most recent activity on social media was roughly 10 months ago on Instagram. Her post has since become a memorial space, with fans leaving comments of condolences and heart emojis.

Her Twitter/X account had previously been suspended.

Throughout her career, Jesse Jane accrued 12 awards within the industry and received 53 nominations. Her final screen appearance was in the 2021 film 'Emily Willis: Influence', where she portrayed Stepmother Tremaine.

Jesse is honoured in the NightMoves Hall of Fame, XRCO Hall of Fame, and AVN Hall of Fame.

She tied the knot in 2005 with Rich Taylor, and they had a son together, although his identity has remained under wraps. She shot to international stardom for her role in 'Pirates', the first adult film to snag an R-rating and break into the mainstream.

Speaking to IGN in 2006, she shared: "It means a lot to me because I try to reach out to people - I have columns, I'm a sex editor - to reach out to women. Women are often the ones to be afraid of their sexuality, maybe they don't know what to do, or they don't know if it's okay, so this will be access to a bigger thing and I'll have a lot more fans and people I can reach out to."

She also reflected on the film's ambitions: "I was aware that we were going to push the limits of mainstreaming this and pushing to get the R-cut and get it in Blockbuster. I didn't really think it was ever going to happen."

She continued, revealing her surprise at the film's final cut: "It's been in the works for a while, and I wasn't in the know, so I thought it didn't work out. I actually watched the R-rated cut, and it was really good, but to watch how the sex scenes were cut, it was funny to me.."

Concluding her thoughts, she said: "It was funny, but it was cool, and it was a real movie and I still felt like watching it. Honestly, I think even though it's an adult film with the sex cut out, I'd still like to watch it."
