On ITV's show this Tuesday, July 8, Cat Deeley and her co-host Ben Shephard welcomed a guest with adult acne and Dr George for expert insights.

Lexy, a severe acne sufferer, shared how the condition has shattered her confidence. During the discussion, Cat revealed her own struggles with adult acne, which led to insecurities and changes in her routine, including arriving at work early to apply makeup.

The 47 year old presenter disclosed that she turned to roaccutane for treatment, which significantly improved her skin. Roaccutane is known for treating serious acne types and preventing permanent scarring.

Dr George, however, highlighted the drug's "extreme" nature and potential side effects, stating: "I think it's a wonder drug, I really do as your experience as shown. But it's got to be used carefully, it's got to be used properly - it's got some significant side effects and problems."

He concluded by noting the high success rate of roaccutane, and complimenting Cat's results: "But 85% of patients who had a course of roaccutane never have another spot." Looking at Cat he said: "As in your case you're left with a beautiful complexion, no more doctor's appointments, no more antibiotics, your skin is cured," reports the Mirror.

However, Lexy admitted that the medication roaccutane is not easily obtainable, sharing that she's been on a waiting list for two years. Fans swiftly took to social media platforms to engage in the debate, posting their thoughts and personal experiences.

One viewer lamented: "I feel so sorry for anyone suffering with acne. It's a cruel condition."

Another empathised saying: "I can sympathise with girl with bad acne. I had it in my teens. Hated looking in the mirror. Roaccutane was fantastic. Cleared my skin, a wonder drug. Many side effects but worth it."
