Take a look… 🗞️ NEWS IN FOCUS James Thaler’s piece with TWFG Insurance (The Woodlands Financial Group)'s Gordy Bunch, was released, with the reporter and the CEO discussing pent-up investor demand for brokerage stocks, how TWFG had always planned to list and why being publicly held gives TWFG “currency” for M&A and attracting talent. George Abbott interview with Skyward Specialty Insurance’s Andrew Robinson was published, a piece that hones in on why litigation financiers and insurers are in a war for tech and talent and how these financiers bury carriers in paperwork and their usage of AI. Our latest episode of Undercurrents with William Pitt was released where Pitt and Abbott discuss data management and control and the ways in which they need to be improved throughout the industry. A “reliance on ad hoc Excel spreadsheets has left it vulnerable to errors and breaches,” Pitt mentioned in the interview. ▶️ CLOSE QUARTER Sophie Roberts spoke with Guy Carpenter’s Global Head of Distribution, Lara Mowery to discuss the dynamics at the mid-year reinsurance renewal, structural changes, the role of ILS + more. An interview with Arch Insurance International’s Simon Williams saw the chief strategy and distribution officer and The Insurer TV’s George Abbott discuss digitalisation of the industry and how exactly it’s going to shape the market, how Arch is leaning into casualty, why the firm are hiring geoscientists and his opinion on IP insurance being the next cyber. Also released was a joint interview with Richard Wheeler and Tom Murray, co-leaders of Aon Global Re Specialty, where the two and Sophie Roberts go into how changes in the insurance market are affecting hiring practices, the current state of the cyber reinsurance market and Global Re Specialty plans for the future. HIGHLIGHTS | The Insurer TV @ the 2024 Futures Academy Careers Festival This year, The Insurer TV covered the careers festival at Lloyd's hosted by London Market Group. The festival marked the end of the Visionpath X London Insurance Life Futures Academy, a fantastic 2 week initiative is designed to invigorate and expose new young talent to the specialty insurance industry.
