Over 50 independent production companies based in Scotland attended our supplier briefing at City Halls this week, hosted by BBC Scotland’s commissioning team, lead by Louise Thornton. The briefing outlined our commissioning strategy over the next year across all platforms, highlighting in particular, co-commission opportunities for content development and production within the Daytime, Entertainment and Factual genres across the BBC network. Speaking about the event Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning said “We work with Scotland’s independent production sector on a daily basis but it’s hugely important for us to host these briefings…they bring everyone together and allows us to set out our stall in terms of what we’re looking for content-wise but also gives us the opportunity to discuss market trends and reinforce our commitment to the industry through the various initiatives we partner on that support and develop emerging talent in Scotland. We know our audiences love high impact content that has a sense of place and amazing storytelling at its heart and we know we are lucky enough to work with some of the best in the business when it comes to developing and delivering in this space. We’re excited to see what ideas our briefing will generate.” More info on our BBC Scotland commissioning process here - https://lnkd.in/g7V7Kaic
