We are currently recruiting a Senior Sales Manager (Project team) on behalf of a well-established, family-run SME based in Billingham. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth in the project channel through excellent pipeline management and proactive engagement with clients, specifiers, contractors, sub-contractors, and other related contacts. This role focuses on account management and prospecting to ensure the highest level of service and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Overall:
Manage the Project Sales Division, including international accounts, to achieve service excellence and growth targets
Lead and develop the team to meet sales revenue and profit goals
Oversee project channel sales and expenditure budgets
Participate in bi-annual price review meetings with the Pricing Committee
Report forecasts for the channel to the supply chain department and ensure alignment with customer purchases
Maintain meticulous CRM management
Network with industry contacts to enhance reputation
Collaborate with Marketing to maximise showroom facility usage and oversee event schedules
Ensure the opportunity pipeline is up-to-date and accurate
Contribute to export strategy and manage export pipelines for international projects
Ensure the projects team follows through on specified product opportunities via contractors and merchants
Provide key opportunity updates at weekly sales meetings
Facilitate a unified approach among specification managers, project sales managers, and project estimators
Run weekly channel meetings to track progress and adjust strategies
Prepare weekly and monthly pipeline and customer reports for the Business Development Director
Generate and utilise reports to drive success.
Specifiers (Architects and Interior Designers):
Engage with relevant specifiers globally
Oversee prospecting for new opportunities and ensure they are recorded in the CRM system
Develop relationships with the top 100 UK specifiers, ensuring regular engagement and relationship management
Organise and attend industry events to increase brand recognition
Manage telemarketing efforts and conduct training and awareness meetings
Contractors:
Engage with relevant contractors
Prospect for new opportunities and ensure they are logged in the CRM system
Develop relationships with the top 100 UK contractors and attend industry events to enhance brand reach
Conduct telemarketing and training sessions, manage project meetings, and prepare proposals
Contract Merchant Branches:
Engage with contract merchant branches
Coordinate with the trade team to obtain relevant contact details and conduct telemarketing
Organise training sessions and meetings, prepare proposals, and follow up on quotes
Run quarterly pipeline review meetings and monitor spend and forecasts
Support and articulate the project registration system and its impact on pricing
Requirements
Degree qualification or equivalent experience
3-5 years of project channel management experience in a B2B environment
Proven leadership skills and excellent pipeline management abilities
Strong business acumen and a drive to succeed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of numeracy and a passion for the product
Organised, disciplined, and target-driven
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems
