Bored of all the corporate red tape and hoops to jump through in order to get anything done or changed at work? You're a do'er and you want to get things done but there seems to be too many people to 'run things past' before doing anything different.

As amazing and important the big blue chip companies are for the industry, the smaller start up sites are where the magic truly happens. We have been approached by just that, a small (yet mighty) company in the North London area who are growing their senior leadership team and appointing a Technical Manager. They already have a couple of the high end main players demanding more of the product, but with more quantity comes the need for a technical extraordinaire to support with the daily management of everything quality and technical.

There isn't anything out of the ordinary that you will need to do, it is a stand alone role but an opportunity to truly make it what you want with the founders working with you. Typically see you responsible for internal audits, maintaining supplier relationships, leading all investigations and showing your hand to the involvement of NPD projects.

One of those where you will likely wear many hats, but isn't that what it's all about? Surpassing your potential and all that?

You could be a senior food technologist or technologist looking to step away from the typical career progression ladder that most people go through, or an existing QA manager looking for a quick jump to something a little more 'quirky'.
