We are excited to be recruiting for a Head Chef based at Southbank Centre Café.

As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in our reopening, overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations. You will be responsible for developing a dynamic and seasonal menu, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Your creativity and leadership will be key in establishing our restaurant as a premier dining destination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership : Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a cohesive and motivated team environment.
  • Food Preparation: Supervise daily food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Quality Control: Maintain rigorous standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen.
  • Budget Management: Oversee food costs, inventory, and budget management to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to synchronize kitchen operations with the overall business strategy and goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, high-quality restaurant.
  • Education: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Creativity: A strong passion for culinary innovation and excellence.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
