We’re searching for a HR Business Partner to join our Gym Operations team, covering our East Division!


About the job

As part of our Gym Operations People Team, the successful HR Business Partner will cover our East division, which will cover the East of the country from parts of Yorkshire down to North London and across to Norwich. This role will work remotely, with regular travel required throughout the division.


The Role

This role will work alongside the Head of People to drive a positive, engaged and high-performance culture within the division.


You will work in true partnership with our Gym Operations Leadership team. Responsibilities include:

  • Talent & Succession – you will be instrumental in driving the workforce planning in your division with an “internal first” approach that utilises all development resources to inspire and grow our talent.
  • Engagement - drive positive and effective responses to engagement levels within your division by analysing the broader action plans to establish a "you said, we did" approach that is relevant to your audience.
  • Wellbeing – monitor, understand and anticipate the wellbeing needs of the UK Gym Ops business and play a pivotal role in creating the demand for ongoing ideas and solutions to ensure that all PureGymmers feel supported and cared for in every gym
  • Business Partnering – build strong and trusted relationships with your divisional and regional leaders to firmly establish yourself as an integral part of the Divisional team.
  • ER – proactively educate managers on key people topics in response to feedback and divisional trends whilst being a role model for all People Advisors by handling any escalated complex cases to the best possible resolution and utilising the learnings to train and develop the People Hub team alongside the ER Partner.


The Person

We are looking for a strong generalist with a passion for rolling up their sleeves and driving positive change in the people space. This is an operational HR Business Partner role that needs someone to get in amongst their stakeholders and not only determine the needs of the division, but also play a key role in delivering the needs themselves.


This is the perfect position for someone who loves a fast-paced environment working with people who care about their team and value the help and support of a people expert.


The right person for the role will have:

  • Solid understanding of employment law and substantial experience of handling complex employee relations cases with great instincts for making the right decisions.
  • Experience of working with business leaders to drive proactive people activity that underpins the business objectives.
  • A passion for playing a key role in creating a truly great place to work that priorities employee wellbeing and engagement.
  • The ability to inspire, motive and coach managers to be better people managers.
  • Strong technical generalist skills and abilities partnered with a natural ability to think commercially and see the bigger picture.
  • High energy and will thrive on moving at pace and going the extra mile.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, and an ability to adapt both style and approach.
